Information You Submit
A name, phone number, or address entered in a search form is sent to the third-party provider that serves the result. Garner Residents Directory does not retain a copy of those search entries. If you contact us, we receive the content of your message and use it to answer the request.
Automatic Technical Data
Hosting services may create standard logs that include IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time of access. We use aggregate patterns to maintain the service and understand which reference pages are useful. Cookies or similar technology can support basic analytics and advertising measurement where used.
What We Do With This Data
We use this information to operate the service, resolve technical issues, measure traffic, and improve reference content. We do not sell a list of visitors or build individual visitor profiles.
Links to Other Websites
Links lead to county and state portals, library collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Once you use one of those services, its own privacy policy controls the information you provide. This includes sponsored results supplied by a separate provider.
Who Might See Your Data
The service providers that host and support the site process server logs for us. Analytics and advertising partners may receive the automatic data described above. We disclose data when a valid legal process requires it, and not otherwise.
How We Protect Your Data
The site runs over an encrypted connection and logs are kept only as long as the purposes above need them. There are no accounts here, so no password or profile of yours exists on this site to be exposed.
Users Under 18
The site is meant for adults and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18; if you believe a minor has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information that this service keeps about you. Because our retained information is limited, requests usually involve checking the contact mailbox and available logs, then removing applicable information. Use the Contact page to ask. North Carolina public records held by a state, county, or municipal custodian are outside our control; direct a correction, redaction, or removal request to the office that maintains that record. Research did not identify a broad North Carolina consumer-privacy deletion statute to cite here.
Updates to This Policy
We will post revisions to this policy here. Continued use after a revision means you accept the updated policy.
